Advocacy

A Belle de Jour girl is a woman of substance. She knows the value of giving back and helping others.

A percentage of Belle de Jour power planner proceeds goes to a selected women-related charity of the Belle de Jour Team.

For 2007 and 2008: Our chosen advocacy is Tahanan ni Sta. Lucia
, a crisis intervention center for 12-17 abandoned, neglected, or sexually/physically-abused street children.

Mission
To respond to the specific needs of these children and most importantly, to help them start the inner healing process so that they can rebuild their lives and live normally and productively in the future.

Goal
The ultimate goal of the Center is to rehabilitate, ensure and sustain the reintegration of young street girls below 18 years old, as well as girls who have been sexually abused or prostituted, with their families if still possible, and to society in general.

Objectives

  • To provide the street girls and sexually abused children with temporary and therapeutic home atmosphere.
  • To develop positive values and to enhance feelings of self-respect and self esteem.
  • To protect the street girls and sexually abused girls from the dangers of the street and/or their abusive environment.
  • To provide each girl a better understanding of herself and her family.

TAHANAN NI STA. LUCIA PROGRAMS
